La biodiversité
Bronze Biodiversity Label · 70 hectares protected
The Golf du Pic Saint-Loup has always been active in protecting the environment and preserving biodiversity. Receiving the Bronze Golf for Biodiversity Label in 2023 reflects our daily commitment to responsible, sustainable golf in the heart of the Hérault.
The Golf for Biodiversity Label
The Golf for Biodiversity Label (Label Golf pour la Biodiversité) is a national certification created in partnership with the French Golf Federation (ffgolf) and the National Museum of Natural History. It rewards golf clubs that take concrete steps to preserve and enhance biodiversity on their courses.

What we do for biodiversity
At the Golf du Pic Saint-Loup near Montpellier, we have put many measures in place to encourage biodiversity across our 70 hectares of course. Every maintenance decision takes account of its impact on local wildlife and plant life.

Refuge areas
Protected natural spaces created for local wildlife
Wildlife corridors
Natural passages maintained for species to move through
Selective mowing
Areas left as natural meadow away from the lines of play
Protecting pollinators
Nectar-rich planting and insect hotels
Fewer inputs
Reduced use of plant protection products and fertilisers
Planting native trees
Strengthening the tree stock with Mediterranean species
Raising awareness
Training for the team and information for golfers
